Practice decisions, not lucky results.
Blackjack basic strategy recommends a play using your cards, the dealer’s upcard, and the table rules. A correct play can still lose a hand. The goal here is to build consistent decisions and understand the feedback.
Deal a hand, choose an available action, and review the recommendation beside the table. The dealer completes the hand after your turn. Split hands are played one at a time, and your score counts decisions rather than wins.
The rules at this practice table.
- Six decks. The dealer stands on all 17s, including soft 17.
- Blackjack pays 3:2. The dealer checks for blackjack before you act.
- Double on any first two cards, including after a split.
- Split equal-value cards up to four hands. Split aces receive one card each and cannot be split again.
- Late surrender is available on an original two-card hand.
Each sample hand starts from a fresh shuffled shoe. All wagers are simulated, with no deposits, cash prizes, or real-money play. Recommendations use these rules and do not include count-based deviations.
Build a practice routine.
Start with hard totals, then soft hands where an ace can count as 11, then pairs. Review why a move was recommended before dealing again. In the full app, focus on individual strategy skills and track your progress.
Once decisions feel comfortable, try card counting practice. Our card counting practice platform comparison covers the prices and features of three training options.
Common questions.
Can I practice blackjack without signing up?
Yes. Play the three-hand sample here without creating an account. Restart for fresh hands, or continue into the full app for more focused drills.
Why did the recommended move still lose?
Basic strategy aims for the best average result over many hands under a specific set of rules. It cannot predict the next card or guarantee the outcome of a particular hand.
Will these decisions apply to every blackjack table?
No. Deck count, surrender, doubling restrictions, and whether the dealer hits soft 17 can change the correct play. Use the rules shown above for this sample.
